As you may have noticed on our instagram lately, I have been experimenting with a lot of different styles of photography – particularly so with regards to the editing of the photos. In the past, I’ve had a clear idea how exactly I would like to have my photos look but lately, I’ve decided to take more risks with photo editing and not always go for the obvious. Of course, I can’t guarantee I’ll be any good at it but I believe a great way to learn is by doing and so I’m gonna be doing just that.

One of the best parts about blogging, instagram and pretty much every single social media platform available out there is the opportunity for self-expression. It’s not about perfection (perfection is boring anyway) but instead about sharing your own point of view with the world and seeing if there are other like-minded individuals out there who think just like you.

Thanks to your amazing support, comments and feedback, blogging has helped me build my confidence when it comes to photography, which is such a great thing for me personally as photography is what got me into blogging in the first place. The tipping point for me was when I received this email from VSCO a couple of days ago saying that they’d added my photo to their curated images. I’ve been a huge fan of VSCO from the moment I discovered it (I’m sure I’ve gone on and on about it on here enough time for you to know this) and so it was the biggest honour imaginable when I was told my image (which I didn’t think much of at the time) was added to their list.

Experimenting With Different Photography Styles (3)

I know it sounds like I’m just rambling so far but the whole point of this post is to show you some of the photographs I’ve been playing around with so far and to hear what you think so far. Also, if you have any tips you want to share with me, it almost goes without saying that I would be immensely grateful for them! I was gonna just check them into the post but I figured it’s probably best that I add a bit of context to the photo too. Some of the photos were taken on my iPhone, some on my Canon 1100D DSLR camera and some on my Canon 6D DSLR camera. Anyway, enough talk from me. Here are the photos:
