Montepulciano was one of the best finds on our trip across Italy.

It was one of those places we decided to pop into just a few minutes before we set off for the day and it was such a brilliant call. Even before we hit the town itself, it was nigh impossible not to stop and take it all the Tuscan rolling hills basking in the warm sunshine!

You can also see Montepulciano for miles before you actually arrive in the town…

… and one you arrive, you’re immediately blown away by how beautiful it all is!

That’s our rickshaw below.

Once we found a place to park properly, we realised that we’d had no food since breakfast – fine, this was just a couple of hours after but we were starving! 🙂 We had grand plans to do a quick bit of research and find the best place to have food but we just ended up in the very first place we could find! Luckily, the food was pretty good there and hit the spot.

I was obviously too overcome by my hunger that I forgot to take any photos of food. 🙂 Like literally, not a single one (I could’ve sworn I took photos too… oh well! 🙂 )

After lunch we set about explore more of Montepulciano on foot.

It is truly one of those charming little Italian towns that’s almost impossible to believe exists. Its like something out of a movie or a magazine. People ambling along with no one in a hurry to get anywhere… others having lunch or a coffee with friends… Absolute Italian town perfection.

Our walk ended up rewarding us with another great view of Tuscany…

See what I mean? Eventually, we had to hit the road again and so we made our way slowly back to the rickshaw. We made sure of course to get intentionally ‘lost’ in the town as we tried to find our rickshaw. 🙂

I was pretty much in love with Montepulciano by this point of course.

Now do you see why this was such an amazing gem of a find on our road trip? What do you think Montepulciano? Are you about it as I am? 😉 🙂 🙂
