Ibiza is (justifiably) famous the world-over as a brilliant place to visit in summer! The island fills with visitors from all over the world looking for one of the most unique island experiences the world over.

Ibiza’s parties are famous – as are it’s clear blue waters and although these things are available long before (and indeed, after) summer, most people’s memories of the islands will only ever have been from summer time so it begs the question – what’s Ibiza like outside of the summer season.

We’re currently in Ibiza finding that out now (there’s a lot more on Snapchat at HandLuggageOnly) and in truth, it boils down to one thing- visiting Ibiza pre-season is such a fantastic way to experience the islands more scenic and authentic side. Simple as that! There’s no distraction from throngs of people, almost daily hangover (depending on your predilection for the clubs) or even the baseline of speakers booming at loud volumes. Summertime in Ibiza is special but pre-season, the island shows of some of its very best features!

What Is It Like To Visit Ibiza Before The Start Of The Season? (13)

We’ve only been here a few days so far (last time we visited, it was also around this time of the year though we managed to squeeze in a trip to a couple of clubs during our short stay before) and this time, we’re just leaning into the whole laid back nature of everything (and also into quite A LOT of delicious food). Even as I write this, I’m already running 5 minutes late for dinner at one of the most highly recommended restaurants on the island and it’s all I can do to not chuck my shoes on and run out immediately in search of that delicious food!

so glad you like it as much as we did! It really is a stunning island!

We’re currently in The Body Camp, Ibiza – lots of exercise, great food and we’re both hoping we leave with an almighty six pack! 😉 Haha!

Ah, sounds like HEAVEN! I’ve been considering going on an’exercise’ trip for a while now, there are lots of great ones around the Med! 🙂 Lanzarote has this hotel that’s aimed at fun workout classes (think zumba by the beach) and I’ve been dying to go! 🙂

I have actually wondered what happens to these places in the off-season. I know a lot of them become ghost towns and even the locals pack up and move away as there isn’t any business in certain places. Looks a beautiful place and great to see a different perspective, and a more quite atmosphere than what is typically associated with the place.

You’d love it Conor and it’s still surprisingly busy. The north of the island is so beautiful and there’s so many pretty towns to explore! We want to stay as long as possible! Haha! 🙂

How gorgeous! I think off-season is actually a great time to visit places because it’s easier to move around and experience places!

Hey! I was in Ibiza in April of this year- I loved being there off-season. I’m heading back in July, which I’m sure will result in a vastly different experience!

Any tips on how to get to es Vedra?

Hey Dylan! We were on the island at the same time! 🙂 We stayed for two amazing weeks in Ibiza in April!

Okay, so the easiest way to get to Es Vedra is to rent a car for the day – it’ll cost you like £30 for the day and well worth it as you won’t be bogged down by taxi costs too! Es Vedra is only 20-25 minutes from the airport so it’s nice and convenient too!

Hope that helps! 🙂
