Come take a journey with me to find out where the last dragon lay… This day was one of those days that was filled with unexpected delights! I’d long driven past this little village and never been to explore it and today, on the search for something but not looking for anything really, we all found ourselves in the quaint little gem of a village…

Disclaimer: All photos taken via my iPhone. Like I said, I was so unprepared. 🙂

First off, we headed off antiques shopping! Found this champagne box which I have many ideas on to how to use it…

..and this old Torpedo typewriter, which I managed to get a discount on! (Instagram followers already know this)

Then popped into the village market for a few supplies!

And then began a lazy amble around the village… Everything here was so idyllic!

True British quaintness…

Stocked up on some sugar with this caramel flapjack. I love my sugar but struggled to eat this in one sitting! #SugarOverload

Finally found where ‘The Last Dragon’ was seen! 🙂 😉 This talk of dragons is all tongue-in-cheek but I absolutely love to imagine that centuries ago, there were (friendly) dragon flying around the UK though to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t even expecting or looking for this. I just happened on it as we explored the village…

We made our way through the castle ruins…

To where the dragon monument stood…

This is no dragon but still a cute little critter…

Love this cute little house…

And this ale house with the thatch roof. (Pardon the Biffa bins!)

Found this iron smith’s workshop! It’s apparently over a century old and was forgotten for ages until someone bought the place, complete with all the tools and pretty much ‘tidied’ it up and put it all out for display…

Found this book of poems too! It’s pretty tattered but seeing as it was published in the 1930s and is easily over 80 years old, this is excusable!

Then happened upon one of the most picturesque waterfalls I’ve seen… It was a sheer mass of luscious sky blues, deep forest greens and the soothing sound of running water…

An afternoon well spent I think! 🙂
