Growing up, watercolours used to seem so amateurish to me. Probably because this was the first medium I tried to use to paint and as you probably already know, I am a terrible painter/artist. I can’t draw, I can’t really paint and even if you asked me to draw a dog now, I’m pretty sure I’d end up drawing one with at least one leg twice the length of the others and with a head that will probably give you nightmares for days. Given this, you can imagine my surprise and delight when I happened upon Elena Romanova,
Elena Romanova, originally from Moscow, was a student at University of the Arts London finishing with a First Class Honours Degree and she’s pretty darn talented. I just love these watercolour cities she’s painted as they are absolutely beautiful. I’m more drawn to the colourful ones but even the brown and darker coloured ones are still pretty impressive.
So, let’s play a little game here. It’s fairly obvious which cities some of the watercolour cities are though some of the others are not quite as obvious. How many cities can you identify in the pictures? Leave a comment below to let me know. 🙂 (*Hint: London, Paris and New York are well represented in these photos)
N.B.: If you go Googling Elena Romanova, there is an other Elena Romanova who is NOT the one you’re looking for (that one’s a the playboy model one). The Elena Romanova you’re looking for can be found on her Etsy page here (that’s the only link I could find on her).
