Whenever you visit any city, especially if it’s for a weekend, it always makes sense to stay right in the centre of all the attraction.

Okay, not smack bang in the middle but definitely close enough that you don’t end up spending you’re precious holiday time commuting to see all the sights.

With this in mind, I bring you our recommendation for where you should stay in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona – The Barcelona Catedral Hotel

It’s also pretty easy to see why it’s named that – this hotel is 20 seconds away from the famous Barcelona Cathedral and within walking distance of all the major sights in the Gothic Quarter. My Recommendation For Where To Stay In The Centre Of Barcelona (2)

The Gothic Quarter is the centre of Barcelona’s old city and is steeped with so much history (along with the requisite historic buildings), beautiful little cafes, restaurants and some of the most amazing sights on offer, not just in Spain but in Europe.

Being based here is a sure-fire easy way to fall in love with Barcelona as everything is right on your doorstep and even after a libations-filled (and fuelled) Saturday night out in the town, your bed isn’t too far away – saving you on that extra cost of ferrying yourself around town.

Okay, let’s get the important questions out of the way

WHERE IS THE HOTEL? Well, I’ve already said it’s in the Gothic Quarter but where specifically? Here are the deets:

Address: Carrer dels Capellans, 4, 08002 Barcelona, Spain

WHO SHOULD STAY THERE? Anyone who wants to make the most of their time visiting the city. It’s centrally located (tick), the breakfast is really good (tick) and it’s got a swimming pool (uber-mega summertime visiting tick!).

HOW MUCH GOLD DOES IT COST? It’s a 4-star hotel but the prices are fairly reasonable. When we stayed, it was around £100 a night which is not bad at all – especially when you factor in the breakfast included and £0 transport cost as you can walk almost anywhere from here.

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

Well, let me show you! 🙂 We’ll start in the rooms…My Recommendation For Where To Stay In The Centre Of Barcelona (5)

And there you have it! The Hotel Barcelona Catedral in a nutshell. Now there’s much more to see here of course and even more styles of rooms which I’m pretty sure you’ll like but I’ll leave you with the pleasure of discovering that for yourself! 🙂 😉 My Recommendation For Where To Stay In The Centre Of Barcelona (13)
