The beautiful Mediterranean island country of Cyprus is incredible to visit. It’s one of those places that has a little something for everyone. There’s so much history, gorgeous cities like Paphos, and some of the best beaches in Cyprus dotted all around its shores.

After travelling to Cyprus, I totally fell in love with the island; not least because of the natural beauty of its Mediterranean coastline. So, to help you get the most out of your visit to Cyprus, I’m sharing some of my top beaches that you can’t miss on your trip.

Oh, and pop us a message any time if you need any more tips on Cyprus. It really is a special place to visit.

1.) Coral Bay Beach

Best Beaches In Cyprus To Visit Coral bay beach

Coral Bay Beach is an absolute gem, located around a 20-minute drive north of Paphos. What I love most about it is that it’s totally easy to visit and really accessible if you’re exploring Cyprus in a hire car.

Plus, there’s lovely golden sand, which is great if you’re visiting with the family. However, one word of caution (and this applies to all beaches worldwide): watch out for rip currents that can affect the area.

There’s a small car park right next to the beach, and you can also rent sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach itself. Finally, there is a wide range of water activities and sports you can choose from, so you will not get bored or run out of things to do while visiting Coral Bay Beach.

Finally, Coral Bay Beach was awarded Blue Flag. Only clean beaches and good water quality get these awards in Europe.

2.) Cape Greko Peninsula (Blue Lagoon)

I know, Cape Greko Peninsula isn’t technically a beach. Forgive me on that point; it’s just too gorgeous not to visit when in Cyprus. What it lacks in sandy bays, it makes up with beautiful waters.

Also, if you’re into scuba diving, this is a great spot in Cyprus. Book this guided scuba diving tour around Cape Greko Peninsula. You head out with a qualified guide and it’s so good.

Finally, if you do want to spend some time on the beach itself, head to nearby Konnos Beach. It’s right next to Cape Greko Peninsula.

3.) Nissi Beach

Best Beaches In Cyprus To Visit Nissi beach Ayia Napa

Probably known as one of the best beaches in Cyprus, mainly due to its popularity, Nissi Beach is one spot you won’t want to miss, especially if you love to party.

Known as the beach that never sleeps, Nissi Beach’s beauty is undeniable. The shallow waters and the beach’s white sand make it a great spot to visit.

Also, there are a few beach clubs, such as the Isola Beach Bar and the Nissi Bay Beach Bar. In the summer months, you’ll have resident DJs, cocktails and heaps of food available.

Now, what I would say is that Nissi Beach can get very busy in the summer months in Cyprus. So, if you’re not keen on crowds, you might want to give this spot a miss.

4.) Pissouri Beach

Pissouri Beach is a pebble beach on the Cyprus coastline, around a 35-minute drive west of Limassol. It’s pretty easy to visit if you have a car. Also, make sure to pack a pair of water shoes; these come in really handy on the beach.

5.) Mackenzie Beach

Best Beaches In Cyprus To Visit Larnaca, Makenzie beach

One of Larnaca’s go-to beaches for entertainment is Mackenzie Beach – it’s pretty huge and has loads of space. That being said, it also attracts crowds in the warmer summer months in Cyprus.

This can be a double-edged sword as it means you have lots of facilities and lots of people at peak times of the year.

Firstly, its popularity means that there are lines of bustling restaurants and bars, and numerous events happen on the seafront stage. For instance, the Rebuke Lounge is great to visit for dinner because of its chilled music and delicious risotto.

Oh my gosh, it was good.

Also, Mackenzie Beach has heaps of parking, and you can easily get a taxi as it’s so close to Larnaca Airport.

6.) Makronissos Beach

Best Beaches In Cyprus To Visit Makronissos beach, Ayia Napa

Not too far from Ayia Napa’s marina, Makronissos Beach is stunning to visit when exploring Cyprus.

For a tasty bite, grab a table at sunset at Koralli Seafood. They serve some of the region’s freshest seafood, and we absolutely loved their grilled octopus.

Known for its buzzy vibe, you can reach Makronissos Beach by riding the bus shortly. Chalk-white sands are lovely on a hot day in Cyprus. Oh, and if you want a more beach club vibe, head to Levels, which has its own sun loungers and DJs, too.

Now, like most of the best beaches in Cyprus, Makronissos Beach can get a little crowded at times. So, if you want to take time out of this beach, you can head to the nearby Ayia Thekla Beach, which is much quieter.

7.) Aphrodite’s Beach

Best Beaches In Cyprus To Visit Petra tou Romiou, Aphrodite

Said to be the birthplace of Aphrodite, Aphrodite’s Beach is really easy to visit if you’re near Paphos Airport. You see, it’s only a 15-minute drive (or taxi) from the airport, making it a perfect spot if you’re already exploring the western side of Cyprus.

Now, Aphrodite’s Beach is a pebble beach, so don’t expect fine sand, but it’s so lovely to visit and totally fine if you’re already in flip-flops or have water shoes with you. Plus, the sunsets from here are absolutely phenomenal.

Also, don’t forget to spot Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock). This is the actual rock where Aphrodite was born in Greek mythology.

Finally, this place on Google Maps is a good parking spot for Aphrodite’s Beach if you’re driving.

Around a 15-minute drive from Ayia Napa, Fig Tree Bay is one of the best beaches in Cyprus to visit if you’re travelling around the rest of the country.

Best of all, Fig Tree Bay’s soft sand, shallow water, and clean surroundings make it the perfect beach for a day trip.

Plus, all the essential needs and facilities are also found in Fig Tree Bay, including restaurants, rental sunloungers, and family-friendly accommodations. If you can, head here in the late afternoon. Although Fig Tree Bay is facing east, it has the most gorgeous sunset colours. We loved it.

Around a 25-minute drive west of Limassol, Kourion Beach is vast, long and totally tranquil.

Now, on one side Kourion Beach has only experienced little development – the means you don’t get huge crowds and it can feel very peaceful. Though what it lacks in development, it makes up with absolute beauty and open space.

There’s not a huge array of tavernas or restaurants at Kourion Beach, but Chris Blue Beach Bar is a pretty informal eatery that serves delicious souvlaki.
