I love Brussels! This is a fact I came to terms with as soon as I visited. Yes, it is a vibrant city. Yes, the food is great. Yes, it is home to some of the finest chocolates in the world.
But there are so many more reasons why you should visit Brussels as soon as possible (or indeed plan a trip back if you’ve been before). My biggest reason for going back to Brussels? Belgian Waffles.
I don’t even feel the need to justify them – I just love them soooooo much and I’ve never had any as good as the ones I’ve had on the streets of Brussels. Of course, seeing as not everyone is a Belgian-Waffle hungry traveller like me, here are some of the other important reasons why you need to visit Brussels:
1.) The Belgian Waffles! No more explanation required on this front… 😉 🙂
2.) The Amazing Cathedrals.
3.) Belgian Chocolates!!! (Just look at those huge lumps of chocolate!)
4.) The Parks! Even covered in snow, they’re still amazing!
5.) This guy! (Manneken Pis – which quite literally translates to “Little Man Pee”)
6.) The Beautiful Architecture!
7.) Grand Place! (The Central Square in Brussels again with some of the most amazing Gothic and Baroque architecture available)
8.) The Shops! (which aren’t as much about clothes, shoes..etc and instead appear focused lifestyle items and food. Or maybe all I noticed were the shops that had food in them? In any case, they’re definitely a different vibe from shopping in London and idly looking through the shops for bargains, antiques and what can only be described as ‘treasures’ is a lovely way to pass an afternoon in Brussels)
9.) It’s the home of Tin Tin!!!
10.) The Elaborate Street Art.
11.) The wide range of delicious sweet treats! (Yes, yes, I like food! 🙂 )
12.) The chance to take such refined and classy photos, even in your hotel rooms! (Okay this isn’t a real reason but I was shocked to find this photo on my photo album – which makes me also wonder, what in the world was I looking at).
Ah! There we go! Now that’s the Yaya I’m more used to…
