After our rather amazing drive through the Icefields Parkway and exploring the beauty of Abraham Lake, we made our way back to Banff to grab our stuff from the hotel and head over to our final stop of the trip; Lake Louise.
Specifically, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
This time, we would be staying at the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and I’d been excited about this one, I’ve got to admit.
Ever since we first visited Lake Louise, actually, scratch that! It was well before, I think it was when I even first saw photos from Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, I just knew I had to stay.
Finally, we got our plans together to do so.
With a view overlooking Lake Louise from high up in the hotel, it was everything I’d hoped it would be.
The sweet treats left for us in the rooms also helped a great deal too.
The thing is though, a big part of why I wanted to stay here was to make the most of Lake Louise and with that, we headed out to explore the lake some more!
What was meant to be a quick jaunt around Lake Louise soon turned into a proper walk to the very end of the lake (it was almost like I had a point to prove to myself) to see what was at the other end.
It was just so gorgeous being here and knowing we were in no hurry to head back to our hotel, we just lazily took in the sheer beauty of this amazing place! It’s so gorgeous, isn’t it?
Eventually, though, we decided to head back to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise eager to make it to dinner on time.
We’d dined at the Fairview Bar and Restaurant the year before (so worth it, definitely recommend it – especially so with that view of the lake which goes down a treat with your meal) and decided to go for something different this time and head to Alpine Social, a relatively new opening at the Fairmont.
The vibe is more relaxed at Alpine Social and with beers and cocktails to kick things off, we got ourselves some tuna and scallops to start.
I went for the cod for mains, with Lloyd opting for the burger.
I went for doughnuts for my dessert with a trio of dipping sauces (so good).
Lloyd went for a chocolatey nutty brownie for his. Now, I’m not sure what the exact name of his was… I wasn’t paying too much attention to his when my doughnuts arrived. Ha!
With that, we decided to call it a day, heading off to the spa for like some much-appreciated chill time.
Lake Louise and indeed, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has thus far proven to be everything I’d been hoping it would be and I was chuffed to bits about that.
