1.) LE MORNE BEACH
Hidden way down south of Mauritius is the secret beach of Le Morne that very few visitors frequent. This pristine beach is a a perfect place to chill out under the palm tress, soak up the sun and enjoy the slower pace of life. A Top tip is to explore The Le Morne Brabant cultural landscape which is also close by and now become a UNESCO world heritage site. Bliss!
2.) TROU AU BICHES
Located in the north west of Mauritius, Trou au Biches is known as one of the best beach in Mauritius because of its fine sand sea quality facilities available on the beach. If you are looking for 2km of white sand, coral reefs great for snorkeling or just relax and enjoy a meal; whatever your preference, Trou au Biches should be your choice.
3.) PEREYBERE BEACH
Pereybere Beach bursts with life daily and is very popular with locals. Food stalls are scattered along the beach where one can find freshly caught seafood everyday. Take a stroll a few meters from the beach where you can choose from numerous bars and restaurants serving sumptuous, Mauritian cuisine.
4.) BLUE BAY BEACH
Blue Bay Beach is located in the South East corner of Mauritius which effortlessly puts you at one with nature that seems to hug this wonderful beach. It’s a picturesque beach for sea-swimming and walking.
5.) FLIC EN FLAC BEACH
Interact with locals on this stunning stretch of pristine white sand beach. On weekends, you can delve in Mauritius’ rich culture and partake in street food from the various stalls that line the beach. Every few months the local community also organise a range of festivals that usually revolve around a mixture of amazing food and beautiful music.
6.) MONT CHOISY
Enjoy a tranquil day on one of the longest beaches in Mauritius. Mont Choisy can get very active on weekends so if tranquility is what you seek, make the trek during the week or early in the morning.
7.) LA CUVETTE
Mauritius’ shortest beach measuring just about 80m. maximise your intimacy on this small beach accentuated with hidden coves. The crystal water of La Cuvette will leave you yearning for more.
8.) TAMARIN BEACH
Tamarin Beach is over arched by the Black River Mountain range which gives its spectacular scenery. Enjoy a perfect swim in the pristine waters of Tamarin Beach and the dramatic scenery behind you.
9.) FELIX BEACH
Arguably one of the most scenic beaches on the Mauritius South Coast. While swimming is not possible because of the strong undercurrents, the beach is a perfect spot for sun-lust visitors who’s only aim is to relax and soak up the rays, just don’t forget the sunscreen.
10.) GRIS GRIS BEACH
A visit to Gris Gris is a must when visiting Mauritius! The view from the cliff top is absolutely amazing. While at Gris-Gris, you must visit La Roche Qui Pleure where the continuous splashing of the fierce waves against the cliffs create the illusion of a ‘crying cliff.’ A natural wonder that is worth seeing.
11.) ILE AUX CERFS
The beach here is great for relaxation. The lagoons are shallow which makes it perfect for swimmers to have lots of chilled fun. Must, go, now! 🙂
