Not started your Christmas shopping yet? Don’t fret, I’ve got you covered with these 12 quirky, fun and even essential little gifts for travellers that you can give your friends and loved ones this Christmas.
There are so many reasons why I want every single one of them but the biggest over-arching reason is how much fun they are for anyone who loves to travel.
Even the cocktail shaker brings back memories of sitting on beaches, sipping away at delicious (though most of the time – “sugar-addled”) cocktails.
In any case, here are some of my very favourite gifts for travellers. Oh, and if you’re stuck for ideas for me… just grab me one of the quirky and totally kitsch Opposuits. They’re so much fun! ✨
Take a look below at some of my favourite gifts for travellers this year.
1.) Grab a dress up with Opposuits
One of the things I love most about the festive period is the opportunity to get dressed up. Na, I’m not talking about in a boring plan suit, but actually with the most kitsch Christmas jumpers and Christmas suits that are always so much fun. It’s a great gift for travellers and will surely impress the festive crowds.
This season, Opposuits have created a custom batch of the coolest and quirkiest designs that’ll impress at any festive party. All that’s missing is the mistletoe!
2.) Give the gift of sound
A staple for every traveller, noise cancelling headphones or ones with a deep sound are usually best. These help for noisy environments like planes and trains when we all increase the decibels.
Headphones like the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H9i not only have touch controls but come in a range of natural and pastel colours which are so cool. It’s a great gift for travellers that you’re guaranteed to win with.
3.) Get a retro gift
So, if you’re looking for a gift for travellers that’s a little more retro, then grab an old-school Fujifilm Instax SQ6 Camera. It’s similar to a Polaroid camera but has a selfie mode and looks pretty cool too!
4.) A great gift for clumsy people
Now, a good quality wireless speaker is the perfect gift for travellers, especially if they’re on the road a lot. Go for a waterproof version of UE Boom(which is great for clumsy people like me). It delivers a pretty hefty sound and is the perfect party partner for Christmas!
5.) Grab a helpful gift
Thule Backpacks are some of my favourites to use whilst on the road and a great gift for travellers if they’re into adventure or sports. Saying that, they’re even good for city slickers too!
Make sure to go for the Thule Covert DSLR Rolltop for any budding photographers. It’s waterproof and has secret compartments for more valuable things.
6.) Buy a gift that saves the planet
Swell make some pretty cool and unique water bottles that are great gifts for travellers this year. Best of all, they reduce the need to be buying a bottle of water and encourages us all to make the right steps to save the planet.
7.) Give a gift that allows you to stay in touch
We’re all looking at our phones more and more these days, right? This is why phone charges are not only amazing gifts for travellers… they are essential!
Go for something like the Apple Smart Battery case (if they have an iPhone). It’s not clunky and easy to attach to your phone.
8.) Help them learn a language
Another great gift for travellers has to be Rosetta Stone. It offers multiple language courses online that’ll allow your travelling friend to brush up on their skills before, during and after their trip.
9.) Give the gift of seeing further
Binoculars are the perfect gift for travellers that are into their wildlife and nature. Best of all, you can get a really good pair for relatively cheap (when you compare it to telescopes).
Grab something like the Celestron Skymaster Binoculars which come with their very own leather case. A perfect gift.
10.) Give a design-led gift
Now, this has to be one of the easiest gifts for travellers you can get. You’ll get no points for originality with this one but you might make someone happy with a quirky or branded one that you know they’d like.
Go for something like the Yvonne Ellen passport holder and tag set. Its designs are really quirky and totally cool.
11.) Give a funny gift
Okay, so funny gifts are usually great ways to go… especially when thinking of gifts for travellers. Grab some of these cosy reindeer wrist warmers that’ll put a smile on anyone’s face. They’re so cute.
12.) Give a charitable gift
Another great gift for travellers is a charitable gift. One that gives back to society. There are lots of ways you can do this, some by adopting endangered animals, sponsoring a child through school or even helping with micro-loans to people in need.
