And everyone was invited!
Summertime is truly the best time in London! The weather is actually amazing, barbecue is fired up, al fresco is the only way to eat, park picnic is a-plenty and everyone’s just generally out and about having a great time. This weekend was Pride in London was held and the city centre shut its roads and everyone flocked to London town for this midsummer party!
One of the best parts of living in London is the sheer diversity of people who live in the city and events like this truly highlight the city’s rich and diverse people.
I’m not usually a fan of street parties in London – transport is usually a nightmare, the sheer amount of people around make it difficult to move around and I get quite bored easily after watching parades but this one was absolutely different and had me changing my mind about street parties and parades in London in general. The energy was electric – the personalities were amazing and so hilarious at times and everyone was just having such a great time. It genuinely felt like one of the biggest parties I’ve ever attended.
I ventured out originally for lunch with friends visiting for the weekend and we all somehow managed to stay till the very end of the parade and till well into the evening before we had to head home and get ready for a show we’d pre-booked and a night out. If I had known how much fun Pride in London would have been, I would have ventured out with my proper camera and perhaps even a bottle of bubbly or two… in any case, I had my trusty iPhone with me and managed to get quite a few photos on it! Without further ado, here are the photos from this weekend’s Pride in London event!
London is a truly amazing city to call home and events like this are the reason why…
