This is probably the moment I was looking forward to the most once we booked our trip to Peru and here it finally is! 🙂

After arriving to Machupicchu village the day before heading up to Machu Picchu, we were told that to get into Machu Picchu for 6am – which would leave enough time for us to explore the citadel for a little bit before starting our hike up Huayna Picchu (our time slot was 7am for this) – we would have to be at the bus stop an hour earlier i.e. at 5am. (*FYI, it was either the bus or do a 2 hour uphill hike. In high altitude and at that time of the morning? No, thank you!)
I moaned about this until we were told later on that we should probably arrive at least two hours earlier as the queues would be quite long.
“At 4am? Impossible!” I thought. Boy was I wrong.
We arrived at 4am (in the pouring rain – like seriously, I’ve not experienced rain this heavy in a long long time) and the queue already stretched further than we could see. It took just under 2 hours before finally heading off in search of this amazing ancient Inca city!
This is also probably one of the videos I was most excited about sharing with you so please do let us know what you think!!! 🙂
