Long story short – it’s as beautiful as they said it would be!
I’ve been going a bit crazy with the photos and taking pictures of anything and everything here! The water is as clear as you hear/read about, the beaches as sandy, and the food impeccable. There are times when you have to pinch yourself to remind yourself that you’re not on some tropical island far away from the UK. Especially so when you’re out and about on the beach or, for instance, when we went kayaking earlier on.
The islands are more tropical than the rest of Europe, predominantly due to the warm Gulf Stream, which starts down by Florida and the Caribbean, and so even the plants here are unlike any you’d find on the UK mainland.
Anyway, I won’t bore you with more details and show you exactly what I mean about the Isles of Scilly via the photos I’ve taken so far.
