Train travel these days is no longer just about getting from point A to point B. It’s evolved long past that now and can sometimes be a fantastic way to take in as much of the natural sights in whatever country you’ve visited at a quicker pace.
Train travel in the UK is pretty much a mainstream means of travel and so I’d long been a fan. After all, it’s a great way to travel across the UK. That being said, after visiting Flam (on the way to see the fjords of Norway) and seeing the amazing sights that route had to offer, I was even more sold!
I can say without hesitation that I would happily include a train journey in my travel itinerary for no other reason than the experience alone. I’d even go as far as taking a day return journey with no stops whatsoever, just for the sights alone.
Now the big question is where?
As fantastic as some train routes are, a whole lot of other ones are pretty dire and soul-sucking so it’s important to make sure you’re on the right train journey and I’ve rounded up 15 of the best – just for you!
