A trip to Barcelona is definitely incomplete without a (mandatory) yummy and best restaurants in Barcelona. After all, Barcelona is a totally scrumptious city, with so many restaurants, markets and foodie haunts all across the city.
Honestly, it doesn’t really matter what food you like, Barcelona will have a spot for you. It’s a total hive of activity with thousands of restaurants to choose from.
That being said, with so much choice comes lots of stress! Which one is best? How do I know I’ll like it? Is it a tourist trap? All totally valid questions.
This is exactly why I wanted to share some of the tastiest and best restaurants in Barcelona to pop into on your next trip.

1.) Eatwith
Okay, so, one of the best ways to enjoy an authentic eating foodie experience in Barcelona has to be with locals, right? That’s one of the things I always remember about visiting new cities, eating just like locals do; Eatwith making it totally easy to organise.
You see, Eatwith is the world’s biggest community of locals in different countries that host eating experiences in private homes and uber-cool venues. It’s like the Airbnb for food and they’ve got a huge amount of locals in Barcelona that are totally passionate about all things food.
Once in the city, check out the incredible middle-eastern dinner that’s set within its own ancient palace. Though, if you fancy something local flavours, chow down on a yummy 5-course Spanish dinner inspired by Catalan artists. You’ll leave stuffed!

2.) Bodega Biarritz
Probably one of the cosiest and nicest little restaurants, Bodega Biarritz is such a great place to gorge. Honestly, it has some of the best tapas in all of Barcelona and is such a great place to stop.
Sometimes (in Barcelona) it can be tough to find ‘authentic’ tapas spots that aren’t just catered for visitors. Trust me, Bodega Biarritz isn’t and it’s so lovely.
Not only that, It’s a family-owned place and the service is so warm and friendly, too.

3.) Brugarol Barcelona
Brugarol Barcelona is a gem of a find and the perfect little stopping point for dinner!
Perched within the Gothic neighbourhood of Barcelona, it’s a tiny little restaurant (around 20-seats) that’s well worth visiting if you’re in the area.
Not only that, but their Japo-Tapas (which is like tapas mixed with Japanese) is also totally yummy.
4.) ABaC
Sometimes, words just don’t do justice to an experience – dining at ABaC is one of those such experiences.
Set in beautifully landscaped gardens, a meal in ABaC is pricey as it is delicious but with two Michelin stars, it’s safe to say you’ll be getting your money’s worth. Just make sure to book your table way in advance, it does get very busy.
5.) Uma
First things first, Uma is cash only so avoid any unexpected post-dinner surprises by coming aptly prepared.
The restaurant is tucked away on an unassuming side street but once you get there you’ll find that the international smattering on offer just rewards for your efforts.
6.) Lokal Bar
Not too far from Casa Mila, Lokal Bar is one of the best restaurants in Barcelona to visit if you want some fresh local tapas dishes.
Their grilled octopus is so yummy! Plus, their squid ink rice and tapas is amazing. You’ll leave stuffed. Trust me!
7.) Con Gracia
Like wine? Good! Me too! 🙂
Con Gracia is known for their great wine pairings – along with the attention to detail paid to each aspect of its food. The food is great of course but quite frankly, they got me at wine-pairing.

8.) Rao
Right in the heart of the city, Rao is one of the best restaurants in Barcelona if you fancy some local produce and dishes that are just so tasty. Not only that, but they also have an amazing staff that can help you choose the right things you’ll like.
Trust me, this makes all the difference when choosing lots of small plates. Just make sure to try their sea bass, it’s delicious.
9.) Blavis
A totally yummy place for food, Blavis is easily one of the best restaurants in Barcelona to visit if you want a more cosy spot for dinner.
Once here, make sure to try their tapas, which is something of a hidden gem in the city. It’s so tasty and all made fresh by the owners.
Just make sure to book a table in advance, it’s a tiny little place and demand way outstrips supply!
10.) Colom
Now, for one of the best places for Paella in Barcelona, make sure you head to Colom.
After the delicious paella, one of the things I love most about Colom is how informal and friendly it is. Honestly, everyone here is so warm and inviting. It really does make for a special treat.
Just make sure to try some of their homemade sangria, too. After all, it’s kind of a must when in Spain!

11.) 9 Nine
9 Nine is the kind of place you (book) and rock up to for a sit-down evening meal. Much more formal than the tapas bars, it’s a totally different experience of dining in Barcelona.
Honestly, their a la carte menu is totally scrumptious and a great place to visit if you love your meats, too. Also, their tuna belly is so good and fresh. It’s the kind of place you want to go back to again and easily one of the best restaurants in Barcelona.
