I was going to write this post about a week ago but I genuinely couldn’t think of a way to start it.
I still can’t think of a way to start it so rather than procrastinating any further, I’m just trawl through all the sights we saw in Berlin. There are too many photos to put in one post so I’ve split them into two.
Not sure if you remember but in my previous Berlin posts, I mentioned how eclectic the architecture is in Berlin and how due to the war, the city is quite unlike other European capital cities. Well my guess is that you’ll probably see what I meant in the photos below…
Bit of advice, if you ever use the hop on and hop off buses in Berlin, which we did as there were too many of us to try to attempt walking around the city (it would have been like herding cats otherwise), do make a note to study the route properly and get off at each major stop point. We missed a couple because we could barely understand our first driver (the subsequent drivers were a lot easier to understand) and we also didn’t get any prompt that we could get off the bus but thankfully, we learned quickly and asked to stop as often as possible! 🙂
The second part of this post is available here.
Bellevue Palace
Berlin Victory Column
Berlin Zoo
Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church
Street Performer
*Only included as I spent way too much time fascinated by the bubbles and took far too many photo. 🙂
My motley crew giving me (what turned out to be a pre-planned) look of disapproval for popping into McDonalds for a quick snack. I make no apologies. Those apple pies were not going to eat themselves after all.
Checkpoint Charlie
Charlie’s Beach
Checkpoint Charlie (again)
The Berlin Hi-Flyer
N.B.: Seeing as I already did a post on The Berlin Wall, I’ve left that out of this post. 🙂
