Last time we were in New York, I wasn’t able to get round to the Statue of Liberty. After all, visiting Lady Liberty is easily one of the best things to do in New York for sure.
The time before that I saw it from a distance.
This time, armed with our NYC Go passes, there was no way I was gonna be giving this iconic New York landmark a miss; especially after we’d been exploring the best neighbourhoods in New York.
We skipped along to the front of the queue, picked up our tickets and headed for the boats.
Within a few minutes, we headed away from Manhattan and were rewarded with that amazing vista of New York City.
It’s safe to say we were quite excited!
We went past Ellis Island, which we would be returning to later in the day….
… and before long, we were almost within touching distance of Lady Liberty!
For a second there, I thought those lines of people standing around were queues for something.
Not sure what that ‘something’ would have been but thankfully, it was just people trying to get selfies with the Statue of Liberty.
Every so often, I had to look back at Manhattan in the distance! Boy, I love that city! 🙂
Soon enough, we arrived at Liberty Island eager to get off the boat and explore the island! It’d only taken a few years to finally come here after all. 🙂
The next couple of hours here was spent in a blur running around excitedly and photographing everything in sight! 🙂
Before it was finally time to say farewell to Liberty Island and head off to our next top – Ellis Island…
