And it’s pretty hard to get into, though not for the reasons you might think! (More about that further down)
The northern part of Ibiza couldn’t be any more different from the south! Granted it’s still got the same beautiful scenery and amazing spots to watch the sunset but the North is quiet, serene and the perfect place to vacation when you want to get away from it all.
Effectively, you party in the south and chill in the north.
One place I’d always wanted to stay in Ibiza was The Giri Residence and on our last trip over, I wasted no time at all in getting in there (seriously, we checked in on the very first day they opened).
The Giri Residence is an oasis of calm on the island, all you hear are the birds, an odd sheep bleating in the distance and pretty much nothing else!
There are only 5 suites here… hence why it’s you might find it hard to get into but this is also why the service here is absolutely tailored to you – which is one of my favourite things about The Giri.
For instance, you have your own dedicated on-site chef who will make you literally anything you want, you just tell him in advance and he’ll pop down to the market to get all the stuff you need. He also has a decent selection of chef specials so you don’t have to worry too much about making a choice.
Oh and you can have breakfast here 24/7! Whatever time you wake up is the time you have breakfast, which is amazing when you’re on holiday as you can sleep till 1 pm and still be on-time for breakfast. (You wouldn’t think it possible but trust me, waking up at 1 pm is very doable – even without partying the night before!)

It’s not that often you step into a place and not only fall in love with it but feel right at home! (Or perhaps that’s because I want this to be my home in Ibiza?) 🙂
Oh and this is the chef (below). He’s absolutely amazing and whips up a storm in the kitchen!
One of my favourite things about The Giri is how bright and colourful the entire space is In retrospect, this may be why it was so easy to feel at home here. Every aspect of it just felt so natural to me.
N.B.: I’m know I’m gushing a lot here but I don’t know how else to convey how much I love LOVE this place!
We kicked off our stay with cocktails and some tidbits…
…before going for a little walk outside.
Another favourite aspect of this place for me is how there are so many little snug nooks and crannies to curl up with a book and a drink and just chill!
Doesn’t matter what the weather’s like when you visit either. We were lucky to have sunshine but even if it was rainy, there’s an indoor pool and spa!

Seeing as arrived in the afternoon, later that evening, we got to put the chef to good use. I’d worked up quite an appetite and was looking to dinner – drinking cocktails in the sunshine is pretty hard work I tell you! 😉
Somehow, The Giri managed to look even cosier at night!
The fire roaring was totally unnecessary at it was quite warm but absolutely welcome! There’s just something lovely about having dinner by the fire place – again, another detail that made me feel right at home.
We started off with cheeses and meats…
… with a delicious bottle of red.
Before moving on to home-made surimi, smoked salmon and tuna rolls! (Absolutely delicious bite after bite).
I then decided to go for lamb chops with rosemary mashed potatoes while Lloyd had the beef penang curry.
(Forgot to take a photo of the lamb before I tucked in, sorry – I blame the wine! 😉 )
Just in case you were wondering – the lamb was soooo soooooooo good!
Lloyd’s curry was pretty fantastic too… (I obviously had to conduct a taste-test to confirm 😉 )
I went with the apple tart and ice cream for dessert…
… and Lloyd with the chocolate fondant!
The very idea of having access to a personal chef who makes everything to your demand at your hotel/resort is absolutely fantastic and an experience I can say is a first for me in all the years we’ve been travelling!
