This isn’t a fancy-sit down affair!
Reykjavik Street Food is the kind of place that’s perfect with friends and has a heap of delicious street food that’ll leave you stuffed.
More of a cafe-type vibe, pop in for their freshly-fried fish and chips and the Icelandic fish stew. It’s so warming on a chilly Icelandic day. It’s easily one of the best restaurants in Reykjavik for a quick lunch.
2.) Old Iceland Restaurant
For a special and totally delicious dinner, make a reservation at the Old Icelandic Restaurant. Just make sure to try their scallops (which are so good) and their lamb ribeye.
On a weekend, this spot can fill up, so make sure to make a reservation before heading across.
3.) Matarkjallarinn Foodcellar
The Matarkjallarinn Foodcellar has some of the best quality food in the city. It has a totally cool vibe and the whole team is so welcoming.
Make sure to try their spicy duck wings and their salted cod. It’s so nice.
Not too far from the ‘Tales of Iceland’, Resto is one of the best restaurants in Reykjavik for some tasty cuisine. It’s a totally quaint and intimate little restaurant that has such a warm and welcoming vibe.
Plus, for Iceland, the prices of their main dishes are pretty reasonable, too.
Okay, so Fiskfélagid is one of the best restaurants in Reykjavik to visit if you want a really special meal. Pretty popular in the city, it’s got one of the best tasting menus (around 7-courses) that is so good.
Their menu has a range of dishes that are inspired by different areas of the world. Each dish (on the menu) details where its. from and it’s such a great concept. Just be sure to try their catfish and king prawn with garlic. It’s so good.
