Okay, that may be something of an exaggeration (easily fixed by the addition of a conjunction)… Budapest as a city not only has amazing sights to see but also has some pretty good food! As a tourist one of the best parts about visiting Budapest is that the cost of living is a lot cheaper than most European cities – especially one packed with such amazing sights and this is a really welcome realization. A stay in a 5 Star Hotel suddenly seems like a more realistic holiday option and you can afford to go for a 3 course meal with wine, cocktails and dessert at a more upmarket restaurant without ‘wallet-guilt’ afterwards. It’s absolutely brilliant!
The restaurant in question on this night is called MENZA and one of my favourite things on the menu was the ghoulash soup – I swear I had photos of the main meal but I must have been too busy stuffing my face to actually take any photos (at least that’s what my camera’s telling me). At least by dessert, with my hunger monster slightly sated, I whipped out the camera to take a few snaps before diving back into more cocktails.
I definitely recommend MENZA for a nice evening meal and delicious drinks after you’ve essentially made your shoes prove their worth while sightseeing all of Budapest.
