The next morning at the Angsana Velavaru, after our fairly relaxed day of arrival into the Maldives – I had two main things planned for the day – snorkelling (the Maldives is, as you already know, amazing for this) and indulging in the spa… actually, make that 3 things – I also planned on getting my hands on as much cheesecake as possible.
We headed out for breakfast nice and early – for some reason I can remember right now, I decided to have reef fish for breakfast (absolutely delicious but seeing as I never have fish for breakfast, I’m intrigued by why I went with that choice). The fish, of course was swiftly followed by lots of pastries and an eggs benedict.
Breakfast over and done with, I decided to go on a wander around the in ocean villas before we headed on the boat over to the mainland for our session… Brace yourself for lots of very similar photos! 😀
By the way, you can snorkel right from your villas here (ocean villa or otherwise) but going on the organised sessions here means you get your own marine biologist to show you around which I definitely recommend!
We actually arrived in the Maldives with our snorkelling gear but for some reason, we always end up getting the ones provided by the resorts (to be fair, we don’t have the flippers so while we pick those up, we just tend to get the rest at the same time).
The here by the way is absolutely incredible! We were meant to be here for an hour and at the time, I remember thinking I’d get bored non-stop for an hour (this applied to just me by the way, Lloyd is more than happy to carry on for hours on end) but time flies very quickly when you’re having fun out here!
Rather than try to describe what its like to snorkel here – let me show you. 😉 (Oh, and you can see A LOT MORE from our island vlog here).
The clownfish here are just so cute… and very inquisitive too. They swim away when you arrive but within second start to poke their heads out from their homes.
Eventually we headed back to the villas, just in time for lunch! Pretty successful morning in the Maldives I’d say… 😉 😀
