On arrival in Singapore, one of the first things I did was explore my neighbourhood – once I was done with my Uni work from Cambridge which had the ridiculously timed deadline of a few days after I arrived – between jet lag, assignment deadlines and general tiredness, I felt like I spent the first few days holed up in the flat and so once I had the assignment done, I was bursting to head out of the flat and go explore the things around me.
A friend recommended looking for a place in Orchard – which is probably one of the most over-priced areas to live in Singapore but also, one of the best locations as there’s so much stuff all around you so I guess that worked out okay. Anyway, I just recently came across these photos I took from the first time I went exploring Orchard, particularly the intensely bright and unbelievably swanky Orchard Road. (Like there must have been 1 million Chanel, Prada, Gucci…etc shops everywhere!)
