This region of Norway is gorgeous, especially from the best viewpoint in Bergen.
After our late lunch in Bryggen, we made our way to the Fløibanen station to take the funicular up to Mount Fløyen for the best view of all of Bergen! This view is particularly spectacular as the sun sets so make sure you try to make it up there for that.
I’ve already covered this in this post here so I won’t bore you with any repetitions (except perhaps to reiterate that the price for the funicular was already included in the Bergen card so we could go up and down as often as we liked).
The main reason why I’m putting this post up, actually, is because I have finally edited all of the photos from that evening so this post is more of a photo diary and is filled with all the photos from the top of Mount Fløyen.
We arrived a bit early to watch the sunset, from the best viewpoint in Bergen and so strayed into the woods for a bit – which I also recommend visiting!
People were out and about here picnicking, jogging, going on family walks and generally showing why the quality of life in Norway is always ranked amongst the best in the world.
I mean, I already had a total soft spot for everything Norwegian but this incredible and best viewpoint in Bergen really gave me the chills… and not just because of the weather!
The whole landscape, especially around sunset, transforms with a golden glow and it really is a special experience that us visitors and loads of locals seem to love. Actually, come to think of it, if I had this on my doorstep every day I’d be up there in a fash – as soon as the sun starts to fall.
Anyway, here are all the photos from that evening and our journey to get to the best viewpoint in Bergen. ↓
