Now if you’ve been keeping up with the goings-on on Hand Luggage Only, you’ll probably remember when I said I’d just booked a stay at the Marina Bay Sands for a mini staycation in Singapore.
Yes, I know it’s kinda indulgent especially as I live not far from here (I could see my house from there!) but I really REALLY wanted to check the infinity pool. (Yes I got a strange look from the lady at reception too when she realised that was all I was there for! lol!)
To be fair though, it’s not every day you get to say that stayed in the world’s most expensive building.
Okay, I know I’m justifying it to myself but in truth, I didn’t need to – I just really wanted to stay there.
Cue check-in time and I was so excited I was practically bouncing off the walls. Then a guy comes and whisks us off to the VIP check-in area.
I assumed this was just because the other queue was a tad long (it wasn’t even that long) but sure enough, as we started checking in, the lady looked up and asked if we’d mind a complimentary upgrade to a suite.
I tried to act calm but I had a ridiculously huge grin that kinda gave it all away. I think I even let a little donkey-esque sound out from my excitement. She couldn’t hand the keys over fast enough.
I was expecting to really enjoy the pool here but the room was amazing.
I meant an upgrade helps but even so, the Marina Bay Sands is such an epitome of luxury.
The beds were uber soft, the suite was so spacious (I did do laps running around it. Why? Because I could)… I could do on and on describing it but I’ll let the pictures do that for me.
Also, the pool was so worth it.
The view of Singapore from up there was amazing and I felt like I was whisked off somewhere entirely different from the heat of Singapore I’d been privy to just a few hours before.
I may have stayed in the pool till my fingers went wrinkly… #ItWasWorthIt I tried looking for deals/discounts on other websites but the best price is actually via the hotel itself.
It was much cheaper than anywhere else I looked – trust me, I did really look.
Anyway, enough talk. Pictures time!
