Take A Peek Into The Highest Outdoor Bar In The World!

“And where is this place that offers the promise of amazing cocktails and entertainment all topped up with a stunning 360 view across not just the country it is in but some neighbouring countries in the distance?” You ask. It is 1-Altitude in Singapore. And just in case you were wondering, nope, this is not a sponsored post or anything of the sort- it’s genuinely one of the experience I had in Singapore that I wanted to share with you (as per usual)… 🙂

So here’s the stuff need to know about 1-Altitude…

Entry Price: $30 – which is kinda decent really when you consider the amazing views you get (which you’d easily pay an entry fee at the Empire State Building in New York or The Shard in London), the entry fee to a night club (if you decide that’s where your night is taking you – you don’t have to, there are several floors here) plus the fact that you get a ‘free’ drink of your choice with the entry fee (alcohol is preeeeeeeetty expensive in Singapore).

The Set Up: There are 3 floors here – the highest is the Gallery (which is just above the bar) and there are 2 other floors (which include a night club and a cafe/restaurant bit). The gallery is really where you want to be as the views are amazing up here!

Mon – Thur & PH: 10am – 2am
Fri, Sat & Eve of Public Holiday: 10am – 4am

Stellar (Cafe/Restauranty bit)
Mon-Fri: 11.30am – 2.30pm and
6pm – 12am
Sat, Sun & Public Holiday: 6pm – 12am

Gallery & Bar (The views – and drinks! Mustn’t forget those drinks…)

Mon-Thur: 6pm-2am
Fri, Sat and Eve of Public Holiday: 6pm-4am

The Vibe: The crowd here is a pretty mixed bunch – in a very good way! Locals and expats alike seem to congregate here and it’s a really nice place to head off to on a night out. The fact that it’s open till late also means that it’s a multipurpose venue as you can have drinks at the bar here and actually have a proper night out across the different sections of it.

General Pricing: Typical Singapore prices for drinks – which as I said before is pretty expensive so just be mentally (and financially) prepared for that and you’ll have a great time. Alternatively, you could perhaps ‘prink’ at home (pre-drink) or even just downstairs in Boat Quay (where the drinks are a lot cheaper) before heading here for your night out. This offers a change in scenery on the night and nice place to finish off your night out in Singapore.

Dress Code: Look smart. The rules here aren’t hard and fast (no need for suits and ties or ballroom gowns 🙂 ) however, don’t expect entry if you show up in flip flops and shorts.

Anything else? Er… let’s see. If you’re not planning on having a wild night out – take your camera and capture some of the views. Also, the gallery has no roofs so if it rains, they’re either going to be closed or you’ll get wet. What else? Mmmm… Bring your dancing shoes! After a few cocktails, even the most reticent dancers will find themselves on the dance floor absolutely carried away by the music (and perhaps a bit by the drinks too).

In any case, a trip to 1-Altitude in Singapore is a definite must-do when you visit Singapore as there are very few places like it (and none quite as high as it!).
