Sometimes it’s easy to forget what’s right on our doorstep – especially when there are so many beautiful and world-renowned historic sites that are only a stone’s throw away!

We’re fortunate that we have so many UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland… from the unique City of Bath, the ancient Stonehenge to the natural beauty of Giant’s Causeway, there’s a diversity to our islands that sometimes slip our minds and truthfully, there’s no excuse.

I’m not sure about you but I used to feel like I was always on a quest to find that far-flung, unique place thousands of miles away from home. The the fact, that it was so far away somehow made seeing whatever sight it was, that little bit more special than something that was just right on my doorstep.

As I’ve travelled more, I’ve come to realise the importance of our beautiful sites which are just as precious as those in other faraway lands.

Recently, Yaya and I decided to embark on an epic road trip across Southern England… and boy was it fun! We managed to cram in a shedload of beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Sites that made us want to explore every single nook and cranny of the UK and Ireland…which we plan to do ASAP!
