New York is one of my favourite cities. It’s busy in a way that I enjoy, there’s so much to see (and do) here and it’s the kind of city, very much like London, that keeps you on your toes. A bit part of what I love about New York though are the little details you’d otherwise miss (e.g. These 10 hidden treasures dotted around New York – most of which I’d never heard of before reading the list) and the brilliant experiences you can have when you throw your itinerary out of the window and wing it!
Here are some of those random experiences which made us very happy (and I imagine would do the same to you too).
2.) Checking into your hotel and finding out you have a pretty fantastic view of the city! Especially so when this wasn’t planned. (This view below is an example of just one of the windows in the room)
9.) Playing with the puppies at the pet store. This one was a bit of an unusual one as puppies in the UK are usually at the home they are born in until they move to their new homes so I’m used to a more personal and less commercial take on this treat but still, it’s pretty hard to resist those cute faces.
18.) Brunch. (My recommendation for brunch where to go is right here)
26.) Seeing an actual dog walker at work. I kid you not, I’ve never seen a real life dog walker in any other city but New York. I love dogs so the moment after taking this photo was spent playing with these cute pooches.
